The tradition of giving apples to teachers is unclear in its origin, with theories dating back to the 1860s in the US. The phrase “the apple of the child’s eye” may have played a role, while German and Dutch cultures view apples as a symbol of good luck. Folklore associates apples with being the fruit of wisdom and love. In my opinion, teachers deserve an apple as a symbol of their tireless dedication, selfless guidance, support, care, love, and unwavering commitment to shaping young minds and fostering a love of learning.
