“Contemplation Garden” is a Karesansui, meaning “dry landscape”. This style was developed in Japan during the late Kamakura period (1185–1333). The aesthetic principle underlying these dry landscape gardens is yohaku-no-bi, meaning “the beauty of blank space.” In this art piece, we have an empty Louis Vuitton retail box that has been transformed into a tranquil oasis. The piece merges opulence with serenity, offering a unique escape from a “retail” point of view. Providing a serene space for reflection, this garden gives you a chance to contemplate life or that last shopping decision that maybe never should have happened.
